This past week was one full of planning and preparing. Early Wednesday morning I was observed by my deputy (assistant) principal on a science lesson about rusting. The students were extremely engaged because it was interesting, which resulted in them being very chatty. Overall the lesson was standard. The students understood what they were learning with the exception of a few students that were dreaming with the fairies. She was very impressed with how prepared I was with the lesson which was good. On Friday I was observed by my principal on data in mathematics and the lesson was much better. The students were engaged and interested because I made the statistics based on their own lives. My principal said I did a really good job and he was glad I incorporated technology into my lessons. Next week I will have to meet with both the deputy principal and principal to discuss my midterm evaluation and then I will be observed two more times for my final observation.
After I taught my lesson we had our second time of inter-school sport. We traveled to Kawana State School to play other primary schools. Our team won the first three games and tied the last one. Overall our record is 5-1-2 which is really awesome. The kids wrote up a script for me on barbie paper to cheer them on and it is beyond embarrassing, but that is what makes teaching primary school so fun. They were showing me how they wanted me to dance while I sang and it was an absolute comedy show for them. I was so proud of them that I bought a pack of cookies (Tim Tams) for them and they loved every second of it. Don't worry dad, I made sure I bought extras for your late snack. It is sad to think that I will be home in about a month and I am about halfway done with my student teaching experience.

Proud of you with all the cute Aussie students, I'm glad you enjoy your student teaching. Dad is looking forward to try the cookies!

Sounds like you are doing a great job teaching and having fun at the same time. I'm sure your students really enjoy having you as their teacher. I know it's not easy trying to think of new and creative ways to make learning fun. Looks like you have really bonded with your students. Love the pictures. Wishing you good luck on your midterm evaluation.
